RICHARD AKERELE
Chair
Richard Akerele is the founder and CEO of a widening participation charity, East London Connect (ELC), aimed at helping young people from diverse backgrounds fulfil their full educational and career potential.
​
Richard received his first degree in German and Business Studies from the University of Warwick and his Masters in Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge.
​
Richard has recently shared his research at the Marmalade Oxford, a fringe event to the Skoll World Forum (http://www.marmalade.io)
​
He was a consultant on The Placer, a social mobility project (www.placer.co.uk)

KOREDE ADEDOYIN
Founder & CEO
In addition to her role at The Vemoye Foundation, Korede Awobowale is the founder and Managing Director of Beehive Tuition, an educational establishment that seeks to bring the best out of the future generation by providing tuition in informal subjects and workshops on life skills.
She is a trustee of East London Connect, an education-based charity aiming to help black inner-city kids aim higher and obtain a place within a Russell Group University. As a Law graduate from a Russell Group University (University of Warwick), she is passionate about giving other young students the same educational exposure she had.

CAROLINE ADDAI-BEMPAH
Trustee
With a professional background in investment management and political finance regulation, Caroline is particularly passionate about the intersection between culture and politics. She completed a Masters at the London School of Economics in Culture and Conflict in Global Europe, focusing on the role that culture, religion, identity and policymaking play in creating and resolving conflicts within and between countries.

Her Masters thesis explored how second-generation British-Ghanaians negotiate ethnicity, cultural identity and citizenship while maintaining physical and emotional connections with Ghana and the Ghanaian diaspora.
​
Caroline is passionate about improving security and governance on the continent and unlocking the potential of the diaspora to accelerate economic growth throughout Africa.

GBENGA ABATAN
Trustee
Olugbenga Abatan is a Life coach and a Mediator. He has a passion for enabling people to achieve their potential in their endeavours.
He has served in a leadership capacity in several organisations such as NIFES associates fellowship the UK, Family Concern, Christians in Government etc.
