More About The Olotepesi Project

The Vemoye Foundation, is working alongside local community leader, Mr. Jastine Mironga, to ensure 20 orphans and vulnerable children from the Kisii and Kajiado counties (Kenya) secure the funds needed to return back to school from the upcoming academic year.

Students like Christine have been forced to leave school due to financial constraints that have only been exacerbated by COVID-19. 2020 has now been dubbed as the ‘lost academic year.’ With your help and support, we can collectively ensure the count of lost years remains only 1.

As such, the Vemoye Foundation is seeking to raise a total of  £4,800 for 20 students or £240 per student which would include the school fees, books, uniforms and other study material for the students for the first year.

The scope of this project is to provide sustainable access to schooling by removing the financial constraint for the students up until they complete secondary school. Whilst these children face numerous challenges in their lives, the lack of funds to attend school should not be one of them. That is where you can make a difference. With your help, the Vemoye Foundation can ensure that children like Gabriel can receive an education and build a better life for themselves and their community.

We are also training and equipping these young people through mentorship schemes to become community builders, leaders and changemakers.

About the Olotepesi Foundation

Olotepesi Foundation is a grassroots nonprofit and non-partisan company limited by guarantee, run by Mr Jastine Mironga. It focuses on support for needy children, improving access to safe water, environmental conservation, and reduction of poverty as well. It operates in two selected counties - Kajiado and Kisii in areas - where Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) are struggling to meet their basic needs and access to education facilities. Additionally, residents in these counties are struggling to access safe and clean water due to the continuous degradation of the environment and the reduction of vegetation cover.
